On April 8, 2025, Rubby Pérez, along with more than 200 others, tragically lost his life when the roof of the JetSet Night Club in Santo Domingo, DR collapsed while on stage performing. His sudden departure left an immeasurable void in the world of music and in the hearts of all who loved him.
Rubby Pérez was a legendary merengue singer, and cultural icon of the Dominican Republic. Born in Bajos de Haina, DR, Rubby Pérez rose to prominence as one of the most celebrated voices of merengue music. His powerful vocals and emotional storytelling carried the soul of the Dominican Republic to audiences across Latin America and beyond. His music was more than entertainment — it was a lifeline of joy, resilience, and pride for countless fans.
Though Rubby Pérez ‘s life ended in tragedy, his legacy to uplift will endure and his voice will never fade. It will continue to echo around the world wherever merengue is celebrated. He will be forever remembered with reverence, gratitude, and enduring affection.
